British Solar Renewables (BSR), a prominent project developer, has received the green light for its ambitious 49.9-MWp solar farm project, known as the Coldharbour Farm Solar Park. The Torridge District Council, located in northwest Devon, granted the necessary planning permission, marking a significant milestone in the project's development.
Spanning approximately 160 acres, the Coldharbour Farm Solar Park is poised to become a noteworthy addition to the region's renewable energy landscape. Once operational, it is anticipated to generate an ample supply of electricity, capable of powering up to 12,500 homes. Moreover, the project is expected to make a substantial environmental impact by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by as much as 11,072 tonnes annually.
The project's journey commenced with public consultations in the autumn of 2020, reflecting a commitment to community engagement and transparency. Construction activities for the new solar facility are slated to span 28 weeks.
Established in 2010, BSR has steadily advanced its mission to develop renewable energy solutions. With a track record of over 700 MW of solar power generating capacity across 57 plants, the company continues to play a significant role in bolstering the renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
