British Solar Renewables Secures Planning Approval for 49.9 MWp Solar Farm Project in Devon

British Renewables (BSR), a prominent project developer, has received the green light for its ambitious 49.9-MWp solar farm project, known as the . The Torridge District Council, located in northwest Devon, granted the necessary planning permission, marking a significant milestone in the project's development.

Spanning approximately 160 acres, the Coldharbour Farm Solar Park is poised to become a noteworthy addition to the region's landscape. Once operational, it is anticipated to generate an ample supply of , capable of powering up to 12,500 homes. Moreover, the project is expected to make a substantial environmental impact by reducing dioxide emissions by as much as 11,072 tonnes annually.

The project's journey commenced with public consultations in the autumn of 2020, reflecting a commitment to community engagement and transparency. Construction activities for the new solar facility are slated to span 28 weeks.

With a track record of over 700 MW of solar power generating capacity across 57 plants, the company continues to play a significant role in bolstering the renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
