NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of India's state-owned power producer, NTPC Ltd, has marked a significant achievement with the commencement of commercial operations at its first-ever renewable energy project. The 50 MW Dayapar Wind Project, located in Kachch, Gujarat, in western India, is a pivotal component of NTPC REL's larger 450-MW hybrid project.
The inauguration of the Dayapar Wind Project has added to the NTPC Group's cumulative installed capacity, which now stands at 73,874 MW.
Within this capacity, renewable power sources contribute 3,364 MW. The company has set its sights on an ambitious target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
NTPC REL, established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC in October 2020, is not only engaged in wind and solar energy projects but is also actively investing in emerging green hydrogen technologies.
